Paris, Paris je t’aime…..

Paris, Paris je t’aime…..

My name is Eva, I’m 20 and currently studying „Export-oriented management„ in the 5th semester of my bachelor studies at the IMC Krems. As our university is focused on international business our 4th semester consisted of an internship related to business in a foreign country.

Let me tell you, it’s not easy to find an interesting job at an exciting company abroad. I was lucky as I got an internship place within the Kapsch Group, which first is a well-know, international and future oriented company which really cares about educating the future generation (us!) and secondly does not exploit its interns.

I did a six month internship in the Marketing and Sales Department at Kapsch CarrierCom in the suburbs of Paris. I really could feel that they wanted me to gain experience and enlarge my knowledge throughout the internship. I got tasks which were useful for both parties and moreover I could even join a business trip. This allowed me to get a real inside in business life and extend the theoretical knowledge that I gained at university and transfer it to real business life.
I also wrote a market analysis of the High Speed Rail Industry and of the Mobile Communication Network Infrastructure, which were really new topics for me. In order to help me with my research I have had some personal meetings with the responsible people in the Marketing and Sales department who explained and answered my questions in detail. This helped me to understand the business and the market in which KCC deals and furthermore helped me to contribute better to my team.
I am absolutely fond of my colleagues at KCC France; everybody was really nice to me and showed a lot of patient. Moreover they treated me like part of the team, which made life in another country much easier.
I had the possibility to assist my colleagues with the organization of events as well as the handling of the facility management. Moreover I could contribute in the finalization of various “Answers to Tenders”.

To sum it up this internship was a great experience for me and I really appreciate this opportunity. Thanks!
Moreover I absolutely fell in love with the City of Love,…..because Paris has it all!
