This year’s Kapsch Small Pitch Football Tournament & Family Day was held on September 17th, 2009 at the playing fields of Maria Theresienkaserne, Wien Meidling and was once again dedicated to a worthy cause. The donations collected will be used to support the therapy of two seriously ill children.
The event, which took place with the kind support of the Austrian Armed Forces, was a great opportunity for employees of the Kapsch Group to enjoy an afternoon and evening together in an informal atmosphere – whether at the snack tent, the bull-riding, on the football field or in the stands.

The Austrian Armed Forces proved themselves the tournament champions in a 2:1 finale against IT Austria, leaving the remaining places to the participating teams of the Kapsch Group as well as Asfinag, HP, Microsoft, first facility and CA Software.
Another highlight was the special match between the Kapsch women’s team and a selected team of youths. Our future football stars proved their mettle with a score of 3:1.
With an international team, Kapsch employees from Argentina, Sweden, the USA and England demonstrated how well we can play and work together even beyond borders.

CEO Georg Kapsch emphasised in particular the importance of donations to a good cause: “Football and Kapsch actually have nothing to do with each other – but Kapsch is always happy to support a worthy cause. Most of all, I am always pleased when employees like our organiser Franz Schreiber support such an event through their personal involvement and commitment – since that is worth much more than any donation!”
In his speech prior to the award ceremony, CEO Kapsch also announced that Kapsch would triple all donations to make the day a true success.
