For everyone who has long wondered precisely how Jesus managed to ascend into heaven without a spacesuit, University Professor Dr. Heinz Oberhummer and University Lecturer Werner Gruber have considered what gives living creatures the ability to fly.

Taking the example of the biggest living flying bird, the bustard, it quickly becomes clear that there is a maximum weight limit. Flying dinosaurs had to use a few tricks to get off the ground. They had air in their bones and were only able to propel themselves in flight under certain thermal conditions.

Why aircraft do not fall from the sky despite their weight and why even a Boeing 747 can be flown upside down is explained by University Lecturer Werner Gruber. He also shows his tender side and demonstrates how the airworthiness of a paper airplane can be improved through “snuggling up”.
